Camera access

  • BeforeEat needs camera permission so you can take food photos for nutrition estimates.
  • If the camera does not open, check your device settings and allow camera access for BeforeEat.

Nutrition estimates

  • BeforeEat estimates calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, likely vitamins, confidence, and warnings from a food photo.
  • Results are approximate. Portion size, oil, sauces, and hidden ingredients can change the real nutrition values.
  • BeforeEat is not medical advice and should not be used for diagnosis, treatment, allergy decisions, or medical nutrition planning.

Saved meals

  • If you choose to save a meal, BeforeEat stores the meal and result locally on your device.
  • You can remove local data by deleting saved meals, clearing app data, or uninstalling the app.

Privacy and data

  • BeforeEat does not sell user data, does not use ads, and does not require an account.
  • When server analysis is enabled, a compressed food photo may be sent over HTTPS to the BeforeEat analysis service to generate the estimate.
